CELEBRATING EIGHT YEARS

We celebrated 8 years of marriage over the weekend in a one bedroom beach bungalow.
It was a block away from our favorite beach in Saint Petersburg. We spent the afternoon swimming in the ocean. Seth tried a boogie board for the first time and loved it!
Johnny was happy in his baby float.

We saw a huge black cloud looming in the distance, so we started
quickly packing up. If you've experienced a Florida summer storm, then you know they hit fast and HARD. As Matt and I were packing up our shade tent, the wind picked up and the downpour hit. We probably looked like a cartoon with the tent fully off the ground as we tried to figure out how the hell to fold it up. The boys were sitting in the wagon with the boogie board over their heads. We finally got the tent halfway folded and ran back to our house, cracking up.
"Vacations" and trips with kids can be challenging at times, but it is so worth it. Seth kept saying, "BEST. TRIP. EVERRR!" and thanking me and Matt for going on a trip with him and Johnny. I always loved family vacations when I was a kid, and they are STILL some of my favorite memories. I hope our trips will be some of Seth + Johnny's favorites too!
I can't wait for our next family getaway :)

ONE TOO MANY MORNINGS + A THOUSAND MILES BEHIND

My favorite moments lately have been my mornings with Johnny.
Seth is in school from 9 - 1 during the week. Johnny has the house
(and all the toys) to himself while Seth is away. It's a nice, quiet
time for us both to enjoy. When Seth gets home, we hear ALL about
his day. This week they learned about seasons (ironic in Florida..)
and he also sang us the song his class sings before lunch every day.
Pretty dang cute.

Florida is bracing for hurricane Matthew right now. We are pretty
safe here on the gulf side. Still, we stocked up on some essentials,
because everybody is advising us to prepare for the worst case scenario.
They cancelled school tomorrow and Monday is a holiday,
so cheers to an extra long weekend!

M O V I N G . O N.

Our days in Indiana are dwindling. We found a beautiful house in Tampa with a big front porch, hardwood floors, clawfoot tub, and beadboard walls. It's a dreamy Florida bungalow.

I can't believe we'll be bringing our second baby boy home to that house. We're planning to be all moved in by the second week of July. Hopefully the summer will be semi-kind this year, since I'll be 9 months pregnant during the worst of the heat! I always said I'd never be super pregnant in the summer, but, never say never, I guess.
